As a winner of the National Toycathon 2021, which was organised by the Ministry of Women and Child Development’s Innovation Cell, we understood the problem of game and toy manufacturing in India, and towards an Aatmanirbhar Bharat, building our own self-sufficient economy is necessary. The New Education Policy, 2020 emphasised focus on financial education and applying unique pedagogical tools. Merging the two philosophies together, we launched TaxCity.
India’s Financial Literacy Problem 🚀
TaxCity helps solve the issue of financial illiteracy in India through an innovative multi-player card game tailored for young adults. This pioneering endeavour aims to demystify the Indian taxation system with gamification, making complex financial concepts accessible and engaging for high school students. Also, going back to our roots, we have developed a card game rather than a digital game to bring students back to the card game format. TaxCity aims to teach students about all forms of taxes, along with basic financial knowledge to students. The game is fast paced, and helps students understand crucial aspects about it. Over 2023-25, TaxCity has been implemented in 45+ schools across 14 states, impacting approximately 9,500 students, and distributing 2,350+ game kits.
